Rwanda Hiking & Adventure Tours

Volcano summits, forest canopy walks and trail sections that put you in Rwanda's landscape rather than just looking at it.

The Experience

Rwanda Beyond the Wildlife

Rwanda's volcanic highlands and rainforest interior reward travellers willing to hike for the view. Mount Bisoke's crater lake summit is the most popular volcano climb: a demanding but achievable day-hike through changing vegetation zones to a lake-filled crater at 3,711 metres. Karisimbi, the tallest of the Virunga volcanoes, is a serious two-day expedition for experienced hikers only.

Nyungwe Forest's canopy walkway offers a gentler, equally memorable adventure: a 160-metre suspension bridge 70 metres above the forest floor. The Congo Nile Trail traces Lake Kivu's shoreline for over 220 kilometres, hikeable or cyclable in sections ranging from a half-day to a multi-day trek. We build any of these into your itinerary as a single day's activity or a dedicated hiking-focused trip.

See our Mount Bisoke hiking guide and full trail guide for route-by-route detail.
