A vehicle for the day itself
A wedding day runs on a schedule that matters more than almost any other. Arriving well presented, on time, in a vehicle that suits the occasion is a small detail that people remember. We arrange smart cars and SUVs with a driver for the couple, the wedding party or VIP guests in Kigali.
This page covers wedding and event hire specifically. For everyday rentals, see car rental in Kigali and car hire with a driver-guide.
What we arrange
- A vehicle suited to the occasion, from a smart saloon to an SUV.
- A driver who dresses appropriately and works to your timing.
- Coordination between ceremony, photography stops and reception venues.
Browse our fleet to see what is available, and consider a minibus for guests travelling as a group between venues.
Planning the timing
Weddings in Kigali often involve several stops: the traditional ceremony, the church or civil ceremony, photographs at a scenic spot and the reception. We ask for your full schedule in advance so the driver knows exactly where to be and when.
| Stage | Typical need |
|---|---|
| Traditional ceremony | Family transport, sometimes a separate vehicle |
| Church or civil ceremony | Car for the couple |
| Photography | Car available for a short stop at a chosen location |
| Reception | Car and driver on standby for departure |
Guest transport
If guests need transport between venues, a minibus keeps the group together and on schedule. See minibus and coaster hire for options sized to your guest list.
Booking ahead
Wedding season weekends fill quickly, and a specific vehicle style may not be available at short notice. We recommend booking as soon as your date and venues are set.
What is included and not included
Quotes are itemised. They typically cover the vehicle, driver and insurance for the agreed hours. Decoration, extended hours beyond the agreed schedule and fuel for long transfers outside Kigali are usually discussed separately.
Working with your planner
If you are using a wedding planner or event coordinator, we are glad to liaise with them directly on timing and logistics rather than routing every detail through the couple. This tends to reduce last-minute confusion, since the planner usually holds the master schedule and can flag changes to us as soon as they happen rather than after the fact.
Booking for a wedding party
Beyond the couple's own car, some weddings need transport for parents, bridesmaids or groomsmen who are dressed for the occasion and should not arrive dishevelled after a long walk or a crowded taxi. We can arrange a small fleet for the day, coordinated so everyone arrives in the right order and at the right time, with one point of contact managing the whole group rather than separate bookings for each car.
Photography stops
Couples often want a short stop at a scenic location for photographs between the ceremony and the reception, whether that is a garden, a viewpoint over Kigali's hills or a spot with good light. Tell us if you are planning this so the driver knows to build in the extra time and can suggest a location that fits the route without adding an inconvenient detour.
Out-of-town weddings
If your wedding is taking place outside Kigali, such as at a lodge near Lake Kivu or in Musanze, the same service applies, with the vehicle and driver travelling to the venue in advance so everything is in place before the day begins. Tell us the location as early as possible so we can plan the driver's travel and overnight arrangements around your schedule.
Choosing between a saloon and an SUV
A smart saloon photographs well and suits a formal ceremony at a church or hotel with paved access. An SUV sits higher, is easier to enter in formal wear at a venue with rough or unpaved ground, and gives a slightly more distinctive look for arrival photographs. Tell us the venues involved and we suggest which style fits best, or offer both if the ceremony and reception call for different vehicles.
A backup plan for the day
Weddings rarely run exactly to the printed schedule, and traffic, weather or a photography session that overruns can shift the timing by an hour or more. We build a small buffer into the driver's day and stay in contact so the car is ready whenever the couple actually needs it, not strictly at the time first agreed. If the reception venue is outside Kigali, we also factor in the return journey for the driver and vehicle so the whole day is planned, not just the ceremony.
Other events
The same service suits engagement parties, anniversary celebrations, graduation days and any occasion where arriving well and on time matters. Tell us the nature of the event and we suggest a vehicle and schedule to match, whether that is a single car for the guest of honour or several vehicles moving a wedding party between locations.
How to book
- Send your date, ceremony and reception venues, guest transport needs and preferred vehicle style.
- We check availability and send a written quote.
- You confirm and pay the agreed deposit.
- The vehicle and driver arrive ahead of your schedule on the day.
Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should I book a wedding car?
As early as possible once your date is fixed, since popular weekends fill first.
Can you provide transport for guests too?
Yes. See our minibus and coaster hire page for group transport alongside the wedding car.
Do you decorate the car?
This depends on what we can arrange. Ask us when you enquire and we confirm what is possible. <!-- CLIENT TO CONFIRM: decoration availability -->
Can the car travel outside Kigali for the wedding?
Yes, tell us the venues and we quote for the full route.
What happens if the schedule runs late?
Tell your driver as things change. Extended hours are usually billed at an agreed rate.
How is the price worked out?
It depends on the vehicle, the hours and the number of stops. We quote each wedding individually.
